Panda was born in Krefeld Germany and returning to Greece his parents decision to flee the military junta that came to power in 1967 saw the family escape to Australia in 1968. Were his hard working parents began the next chapter. Growing up opposite the Enmore Cinema in the 1970s, he was known by the owners and allowed free rein throughout the complex. Along with watching a multitude of films, the joy was visceral, and the seed was planted in this playground. Panda attained a trade early in his working life and has had many various jobs spanning through a variety of industries in the past, along with starting up and running his own businesses. His personality has allowed him to develop his interpersonal skills and gain life-long relationships. His love of acting and food were nurtured by his mother, an actress/singer back in her day and a gifted cook. Adventures began early with an insatiable appetite for travel, people, places, food and cultures. He came into the acting world after years of travelling which saw him indulge in places across Europe- the Mediterranean – UK - Sweden, to America - Canada, New Zealand and Australia. “Always be open, try and attempt many things, be willing to always fail, allow a foundation to grow and inspire you”, his mother’s words. Inevitably when he stepped into the acting world of training his upbringing led him to many teachers, schools, techniques, theatres, cinemas, books, libraries, museums, events, etc. nothing was too small for his thirst of knowledge and experience in this art form. He trained and built a foundation from the Meisner technique, played with Theatre Sports, picked and poked in many various courses across many schools such as NIDA and the Actors Centre. Dabbled in stunt work, stuck his nose into audition intensives with most Casting Directors and Directors. These fruits have earned him roles with various theatre group productions which had him playing Apollo, Thanatos/Death in Alkestis.... to playing Thomas Edison, Tennessee Williams and J P Morgan in Tesla, Lord Macduff in Macbeth and Brett in The Boys. Gaining him a spot with SideTrack performance group, under the guidance of the Artistic Director Don Mamouney, which will remain a treasure trove of joy throughout his career. Along the way he has earned roles across many of Australia’s most iconic tv shows, Underbelly – Fat Tony, Rain Shadow, All Saints, Young Lions, etc. His appetite for characters and the human condition has seen him gain roles in various indie films, and his performance in the Tarantino re-edit version of “The Protector” had him working with Tony Jaa, one of his many highlights. Under the shine of “No role is small” the campaign of, “Make love not war” for Axe, guided by Rupert Sanders shown at the Superbowl was a source of pride. Also worth a mention was the campaign for Jim Beam “I’m Eugene” which inspired many practical jokes while working at Sydney airport. Along with his passion for MMA, cooking and the peaceful art of War Hammer model building... his work, hobbies, travel and family history have given him the insight and a thirst to tell stories, write stories and be a part of the story telling process. His words are more or less his mother’s words, to whoever may ask, “Say yes”.
