Neil trained at The Actors Centre in Sydney. He was a founding member of Hair of the Dog Theatre Company in the 1990s, whose many credits include Misanthrope upstairs at Belvoir. His other theatre credits include many children’s shows including Postman Pat in The Adventures of Postman Pat which toured around Australia for many years and did huge shows at the Sydney Opera House.
For television, over the years, he has featured as a drug dealer/car thief/general crim in Murder Call, Police Rescue, Wildside, etc. and as a punk and a monkey in the children’s shows Miraculous Mellops and Swinging amongst others. Neil has a great deal of experience in animal suits and prosthetics; was Nana on stage in Peter Pan, the Dulux dog’s stunt double in TVCs and featured in the films Noah’s Ark as a gorilla and the cult classic Island of Dr Moreau as Boarman. He has also played goblins and elves including the Dufflepud in Narnia, Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
He has written and directed award-winning short films, was a scriptwriter for Life Support on SBS and sang with The Australian Blues Brothers Band as Jake. Neil is now in his sixties, is short, solid, physically strong and still capable of fighting, dancing, singing and various sporting activities.
