Lucy is an actor, director, educator and producer. She trained at Italia Conti Drama School in London, where she was awarded a three-year full scholarship on the BA Hons Actors course. She has trained with renowned acting coach Larry Moss in Sydney and completed short courses at Stella Adler studios in New York’s summer intensive programs. Lucy also has a BA in Theatre & Film from UNSW and a Dip Ed in Drama/English Sydney University.
Her extensive performance credits include Heaven at The Loading Dock Theatre Directed by Kate Gaul, The Female of the Species as Margot Mason at The Old Fitz, Bonnie and Clyde at the Hayes Theatre with Joshua Robson Productions Amelie at NIDA directed by Miranda Middleton. Dirtyland directed by Paige Rattray with the Spare Room and Bill W and Dr Bob also directed by Paige Rattray at (Carriage Works). Suddenly Last Summer directed by Stephen Niccolazzo and The Sugar Syndrome with director Jessica Arthur. Scenes from an Execution at (The Old Fitz) Sweet Nothings and Fireface directed by Luke Rogers (ATYP) Mrs Lovett in Sweeny Todd, and Australian classics Wolf Lullaby and Ham Funeral at the (New Theatre.) As Bee in Honey Drown (Darlinghurst Theatre) I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Glen Street Theatre). She performed in a one woman show for the Australian premiere of Shakespeare’s Will by Vern Thiessen for the inaugural opening at (The Old 505).
She has performed the works of many new Australian playwrights in their premiereproductions including Van Badham’s Snatch Paradise to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, My Private Parts (Seymour Centre directed by James Beach and Brendon MacDonnell Lyrebird, The Becoming and Redemption at (The Old Fitz), The Westlands (Parramatta Riverside) Van De Maar Papers and Dot Dot Dot (The Old 505 Theatre) Between the Streetlight and the Moon (KXT Dir; Anthony Skuse) and Crushed (New Theatre).
She is currently in rehearsals and collaboration with actor, director and TV writer Dr Cat Martin on a new Australian work and is also in development on a new one woman show with multi-award winning composer Fiona Hill at the Conservatorium of Music. She performed numerous seasons of Shakespeare at Centennial park and the Coogee Arts Festival. Including Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Titania in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Olivia in Twelfth Night and Adriana in The Comedy of Errors.
She toured Shakespeare On Trial to over 200,000 students around Australia, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and The Bamboo Flute(Young Australia Workshop). Further site specific work included Defiance at The Q Station in Manly and Through These Lines at the defence tunnels. Her film and TV experience includes numerous commercials as well as the role of Isabel McDonagh in Rebecca Barry’s documentary The MacDonagh Sisters and guest roles on All Saints for the seven network.
She has taught drama and directed at Marian Street Theatre for young people and Step Up Theatre school in London. She has taught and marked both HSC Drama and the International Baccalaureate Literature and performance course and directed numerous productions at various schools throughout Sydney.
