Jared Stephenson is a Sri-Lankan/Caucasian actor and playwright working on Gadigal land. Heralding from WA, he accredits his unique voice to growing up with nine nationalities, a strong music upbringing, recreating ‘that scene’ from Narnia over and over in his backyard, and catching the reading bug after one of four older siblings started reading Harry Potter to him only to stop a few days later.
After graduating from drama school, Jared served as a producer, writer, musician and actor for a WA-based production company. His work at the company saw him build great connections with rural Australia through the 2021 rural tour of One Punch Wonder before making the move to Sydney in 2022, where he has been auditioning, acting and writing for the past three years.
As an actor, Jared played the loveable goofball ‘Beardy Geoff’ in New Theatre’s Jumpers for Goalposts (2023) and most recently joined the team of Learning Consent’s O’Day Uni tour of Consent Conversations (2026). As a writer, he has worked closely with his friend and mentor, Ross McGregor, to develop his craft and is excited to be producing his debut theatrical script, Power Lines.
Jared is proudly neurodivergent and brings an honest approach to his work through writing, acting, music, and being the life of the dance floor.
