Gerwin's passion for the performing arts was evident from a young age, but it was his move to Australia that introduced him to the enchanting world of musical theatre. In 2000, while pursuing his Bachelor of Information Systems degree, Gerwin also secretly graduated from the Music Theatre course at the National Theatre. His love for dance led him to train in jazz, tap, and funk. Since then, Gerwin has performed at The Logies and Bollywood at the Bowl (Festival Melbourne 2006), working with some of Australia's top choreographers, including Tony Bartuccio and the late Farah Shah (So You Think You Can Dance). Gerwin's stage credits are extensive, including roles such as Phra Alack in The King and I (The Production Company), Naked Boys Singing!, Chantal in La Cage aux Folles (Quirky Productions), The Peasant Prince National Tour (Monkey Baa), Boom (KXT & Slanted Theatre), Equus (Sydney Fringe 2013), and Privates on Parade (New Theatre). He recently appeared as Gede in Stan's mini-series Bali 2002. Other TV credits include Sunny in The Very Trevor Ashley Show, The Code, and Barons. In film, he has portrayed Les Girl in Carlotta (Story Ark Productions) and Tran Lo in Without Warrant (Adante Productions). A career highlight for Gerwin was being directed by Ron Howard in Thirteen Lives (Amazon Prime), a 2022 biographical survival film based on the Tham Luang cave rescue, where he worked alongside Viggo Mortensen and Colin Farrell.
